Nagi was shunned as a child by the people around him because of his telekinetic powers. After he killed his mother by accident and blocked the memory, Nagi was picked up by Brad Crawford of Schwarz. Wanting to learn more about the boy's ESP, Crawford left him under the care of Sister Kaoruko Amamiya, a nun who specialized in treating traumatized children. Ken Hidaka had also stayed at her orphanage for a short time after his own mother's death.

However, the Sister actually was using the children living in the orphanage to commit crimes, controlling them via hypnosis she implanted during their counselling. While Ken was revisting after being reunited with a friend he knew from the orphanage, he met Nagi - and it was during this that Weiss received a mission to target Sister Amamiya. It was Ken who ultimately killed the nun. Nagi witnessed the murder, and as a result of his devastation, he made the church collapse by using his telekinetic powers. From there on he vowed to kill Weiss, and hated Ken in specific.

After the incident, Crawford recovered the boy and sent Nagi to Germany to study at the Rosenkreuz facility for a brief time. Then Nagi started to work with Schwarz to get revenge on the world, for the way everybody treated him when he was a child. He is very solemn and embittered towards life and society.

MISSION 8 RAUBTIER - HOWLS IN THE NIGHT - 

Speaking to Schuldig in his mind, he is of the opinion that Masafumi is interesting, that he thinks that he made them to be like Schwarz.

MISSION 9 SCHREIENT - EACH ONE'S THOUGHTS -

Pulling Tot’s umbrella to him to initiate conversation, he introduces himself and when Tot draws her weapon remembering him, he replies why would he do that, he came to see her, because she is very different. Nagi asks if she's lonely here before using his psychic powers to flurry the petals in the wind much to Tot’s amusement. When she is called for dinner, Farfarello and Schuldig emerge from the trees and Nagi is asked if he's falling for her. When Nagi says who, he hears the one he's supposed to kill, if the order comes. He is present with Schuldig and Farfarello as they overlook Masafumi’s burning manor as a result of Weiss’s assault.

MISSION 12 ABSCHIED - WHY... - 

Using a combination of telekinesis and computers to learn about Omi and Reiji, Nagi is complimented by Schuldig when he is done. He says he doesn’t want to do this kind of thing anymore.

MISSION 13 BRUCH - RAIN OF REVENGE -

He glares at Reiji after Crawford had to stop him from beating both Schuldig and Farfarello over Ouka being murdered. Nagi supports Crawford's lie that it was Weiss that killed Ouka, noting that Weiss are strong, very strong. He is with Crawford and Schuldig watching the news where another explosion has been blamed on Weiss. He asks Schuldig why he won’t tell the police who Weiss is,

 MISSION 14 FLIEHEN - MARTIAL LAW -

Saying its wrong what Takatori is doing, Nagi states they didn’t come here for this. When Reiji dissolves their affiliation, Nagi then comments he is foolish after he leaves.

MISSION 15 DUELL - HUNTERS OF REVENGE -

Sitting by himself as they’re kept in their room, when Crawford tells him that Weiss are here, his eyes turn red as he reveals his psychic power and uses it to flick the light switch for Farfarello to deal with the guards. Nagi says that what Takatori has accomplished here is not quite what he had in mind.

MISSION 17 KRITIKER - PRIDE WITH NO NAME -

Behind Schuldig and the rest of Schwarz, Nagi listens as he encourages the Citizens for the Future organisation to burn young people, and questions whether they can really create a new world out of destruction

MISSION 18 SCHULD – FARFARELLO -

Working at his computer when Schuldig asks whats Farfarello been up to, Nagi replies that he’s been neglecting his duties and is picking on god again.
